Our Philosophy

Every Trip You Take,
A Project We Support.

The carbon footprint of your journey is offset through independently verified projects on the ground — biogas digesters, wind farms, solar parks and run-of-river hydro. Here is exactly where that support goes.

Waste Management

We take efforts to promote and help channelize better waste management, food securing methods, water preservation plans and secure livelihoods.

Organic waste left to rot releases methane — a greenhouse gas roughly 28 times more potent than CO2. These projects capture that waste in sealed anaerobic digesters instead, turning cattle dung and crop residue into clean cooking gas and captive power for the communities that produce it.

Agriwaste Based Biogas Project at APMC, Vadodara

Vadodara, Gujarat, India

Three independent 85 m³ biogas digesters set up at the APMC facility, running on the agricultural waste the market yard already generates. The gas produced serves the captive electricity and energy needs of the facility itself.

PoA Cattle Dung Biogas to Power, Maharashtra

Maharashtra, India

A Programme of Activities running since 2009, covering 13 independent biogas digesters from 50 m³ up to 1000 m³. Fresh cattle dung is fed into anaerobic digesters, meeting captive electricity needs while keeping methane out of the atmosphere.

Tree Plantation

We work closely with the local communities to preserve, conserve and save the native flora and fauna coupled with restoration and forestation.

Native forests do more than store carbon — they hold soil on slopes, recharge springs and shelter the wildlife that makes the Northeast what it is. We are currently onboarding plantation and restoration projects to this portfolio.

Renewable Energy

We support the storage and usage of clean and renewable energy amongst our local partner spaces in order to provide adequate energy supplies.

Every unit of wind, solar or hydro power fed into the grid displaces a unit that would otherwise have been burned as coal or gas. These projects are all operational, grid-connected and independently verified.

Enercon Wind Farm (Hindustan) Ltd, Rajasthan

Kita and Pithodai Ki Dhani Village, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India

A wind farm in the Thar desert generating grid electricity that displaces the existing fossil-heavy fuel mix. The project avoids an estimated 104,068 tonnes of CO2e every year that coal and gas plants would otherwise have emitted.

4 MW Bundled Solar Project, Botad

Botad, Gujarat, India

Four ground-mounted solar parks bundled into one project, 4.0089 MW installed and connected to the grid. Power reaches identified consumers through a wheeling agreement, with the PPA and connectivity permission signed with the Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA).

Nabil Hydro (Sahas Urja & HPP), Nepal

Nepal

A 109 MW bundle of run-of-river hydroelectric stations financed by Nabil Bank Limited: the 27 MW Dordi Khola project and the 86 MW Solu Khola (Dudhkoshi) project, in two different regions of Nepal. Run-of-river design means no large reservoir and no flooded valley.

What is a Carbon Offset Unit?

Every project here is registered on the Universal Carbon Registry and issues Carbon Offset Units, or CoUs. One CoU represents one metric tonne of CO2e kept out of the atmosphere — verified by an independent body, not self-declared.

UCR only accepts projects that go beyond what regulation already requires, that were commissioned on or after 1 January 2002, and that are currently operational and verifiable. Each unit is retired once used, so it cannot be counted twice.
